Just started sporting clays - what choke should I use for most stations?

I'm brand new to sporting clays and just bought a Browning Citori 725. I've been using the modified choke that came with it, but I'm struggling on some stations, especially the longer crossing shots. I'm shooting Federal Top Gun 7.5 shot at 1,200 fps. Should I stick with modified or switch to something else?

Welcome to the sport! For a Browning Citori 725, I'd recommend starting with improved cylinder in the first barrel and modified in the second. That combo covers probably 80% of sporting clays presentations - IC for the closer stuff (like rabbits or springing teal under 25 yards) and modified for those 30-40 yard crossers. Federal Top Gun 7.5s are solid for most stations, though you might want to try 8s for closer targets. What stations are giving you the most trouble - is it the long crossers or something else?
