Struggling with consistency on long crossers at my local course
There's this one station at my club that always gets me - a true pair with a left-to-right crosser at about 45 yards and a quartering away bird. I'm shooting a Browning 725 with an IM choke, using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8s. I can break the quartering bird consistently but that crosser feels like I'm just spraying and praying. Tried leading more, less, different foot positions... no consistent pattern.

Those long crossers can be tricky! I had similar issues until I started focusing on my visual pick-up point. Instead of watching the whole flight, try picking up the target right as it leaves the trap house - that initial sight picture is key. With your IM choke and #8s at 45 yards, you're actually a bit tight for that distance; I'd switch to a Light Modified or even Improved Cylinder for more forgiving patterns. Also, make sure you're not stopping your swing - maintain that follow-through even after you pull the trigger. What's your visual routine on that station?
