Struggling with sustained lead on long handicap targets from 27 yards
I've been shooting American Trap for a few years and recently moved back to the 27-yard line. My Browning Citori 725 with a Modified choke and Federal Top Gun 1-1/8oz #8 loads is fine on closer targets, but I'm consistently behind on the long left and right angles. I've tried pulling away, but it feels rushed and my breaks are inconsistent. Anyone have a solid sustained lead method for these?

Been there! At 27 yards, those angles really test you. For sustained lead, I visualize holding my muzzle about 3-4 feet in front of the target's path before calling pull—that gives me a consistent starting point. With your Modified choke and #8s, that's a good combo; just trust it and focus on a smooth follow-through rather than trying to catch up. What's your foot position like on those stations? Sometimes a slight adjustment there can make the swing feel more natural.
