Struggling with consistency on my 27-yard handicap targets
Been shooting ATA trap for about 2 years and just moved back to the 27-yard line. My Browning Citori 725 with a Modified choke is dusting targets at 22 yards, but I'm missing more than I'd like now. Using Federal Top Gun 1-1/8 oz, 7.5 shot at 1200 fps. Feels like I'm seeing the bird well but just clipping the edge or missing behind.

That's a classic 27-yard challenge. First, try tightening up to a Full choke - that Modified is great for 22 but you need that tighter pattern at the longer distance. On the lead, at 27 yards with that load, you're looking at a solid 4-5 feet of sustained lead, not a pull-away. Don't rush it; the bird isn't moving as fast as it seems from back there. What's your foot position like? A lot of guys get lazy with their stance when they move back.
