Struggling with consistency on handicap yardage in American Trap
I've been shooting American Trap for about 2 years and just moved back to the 23-yard line. My scores have dropped from low 20s to barely breaking 18. I'm using a Browning Citori with a Modified choke, shooting 1-1/8 oz of #7.5 shot at 1200 fps. I feel like I'm seeing the bird well but missing just behind or below it.

That's a classic hurdle when moving back. First, check your foot position - at 23 yards, you need a more aggressive stance with your front foot pointed toward the house. Try tightening your choke to Improved Modified or even Full; Modified is great for 16-yard but often too open for handicap. On the lead, think sustained lead rather than pull-away - hold your swing through the shot. What's your gun mount like? A consistent mount is huge at longer yardages.
