Just started American Skeet - my gun mount feels slow on station 4
I'm brand new to skeet shooting and working through the stations. On station 4, especially the high house bird, I feel like I'm always rushing my mount and missing behind. I'm shooting a Beretta A300 with a 28" barrel and using Federal Top Gun 2¾" shells with 8 shot. I've tried starting with the gun a bit higher but still struggle.

Station 4 can be tricky for beginners since that high house target is coming almost straight at you before it turns. Try pre-mounting your gun at your cheek and keeping your eyes focused on the high house window - don't watch your gun come up. For that target, I hold just below the window and start my swing as soon as I see orange. With your A300, make sure you're not fighting the gun - let it come up naturally to your face rather than forcing it. What choke are you running? Skeet or IC should be plenty for station 4.
