Just started American Skeet - where should I be looking for the target at Station 4?
Hey all, new shooter here. I'm struggling with the high house target from Station 4 in American Skeet. I keep missing behind it. I'm shooting a Beretta A300 with a Skeet choke, using Federal Top Gun 2.75" shells with 1 oz of #9 shot. I'm trying to watch the house opening but feel like I'm always late.

Welcome to the sport! Station 4 high house is tricky because it's coming almost straight at you before it starts to cross. Instead of staring at the house opening, try focusing your eyes about halfway between the house and the center stake. That's your "hold point." When the target appears, your eyes are already in the zone where it's starting to arc, so you can pick it up faster and get on it. What's your gun mount like - are you mounting as you call for the bird, or after you see it? That timing can make a big difference too.
