Struggling with consistent leads on station 4 high house in American Skeet
Been shooting American Skeet for about 5 years, mostly with my Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting 12ga. I'm consistently hitting station 4 low house targets fine, but the high house crossing shot keeps giving me trouble - either missing behind or overleading. I'm using Federal Top Gun 2.75" 1oz #9 shot at 1200fps with a Skeet choke. Tried different hold points from just above the window to halfway to the center stake, but can't find that sweet spot.

Station 4 high house is tricky because it's that perfect crossing angle where the target's moving away from you. What worked for me was focusing on the target's leading edge and giving it about 2 feet of lead, but the real key was starting my gun mount just as I call for the bird. I use a similar setup - Browning Citori with IC choke and Rio Target loads - and found that waiting to mount until after calling 'pull' made me rush. Try mounting as you call, then swing through smoothly. What's your timing like on the mount?
