History
Founded in 1751 by Lorenz Sauer in Suhl, duchy of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Johann Paul Sauer and son Lorenz created the J.P. Sauer & Sohn trademark in 1840. Made first shotgun 1893. Relocated to Eckernförde in 1951 after WWII. Now part of Lüke and Ortmeier Gruppe with Blaser and Mauser in Isny facility (2013).
