History

Founded in 1871 by Norwegian immigrant Iver Johnson (1841-1895) and Martin Bye as Johnson Bye & Company in Worcester, Massachusetts. Renamed Iver Johnson & Company in 1883. Became Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works in 1891, relocating to Fitchburg. Introduced Champion single-shot shotgun (1907) and Eagle double-barrel (1910). Ceased trading 1993.
