History
Established in 1889 in Herstal, Belgium by Henri Pieper and Liège arms makers to manufacture 150,000 Mauser rifles. First rifles assembled New Year's Eve 1891. Began partnership with John Browning in 1897 lasting three decades. Renamed FN Herstal in 1973. Owned by regional government of Wallonia.
