History

Zanotti family from Santa Maria in Fabriago, near Bologna in central Italy, accomplishing four hundred years of shotgun manufacturing. Stefano Zanotti and his son Fabio are living 11th and 12th generations of oldest shotgun maker family of world. Giacinto Zanotti got several patents towards end of nineteenth century in period of great development of side by side shotguns. Was well known and respected being in direct competition with best Belgian and British gunmakers. Fabio Zanotti together with his grandfather Giacinto were among greatest gunmakers Italy has ever had. Fabio Zanotti died in 1971. Built Holland & Holland-pattern sidelocks showing ton of British influence with look all their own. Made guns for Franklin Delano Roosevelt's son. Produced both over-under and side-by-side shotguns with barrels marked IAB FABIO ZANOTTI DA BOLOGNA.
