History

Founded by Tsar Peter I of Russia in 1712 in Tula, Tula Oblast as Tula Arsenal. Established under Decree of Peter I dated February 15th, 1712, became first government arms plant in country. In 1993 became joint stock company. Has long history of manufacturing both military and civilian firearms. Post-war models included double-barrel hammerless shotgun TOZ-25, BM double-barrel hammer gun and small-caliber rifles TOZ-8M, TOZ-12, TOZ-16, TOZ-17, TOZ-18. Current civil products include hunting shotguns like TOZ-55-2, TOZ-84-10, TOZ-120, TOZ-34, and hunting carbines TOZ-78. Plant has over 300 years of history, today more than 3 thousand people work at Tula Arms Plant.
