History
Foundation of Pulverfabrik Rottweil am Neckar dates back to 15th century. Foundation of black power factory in Rottweil am Neckar in Black Forest dates to 15th century. Brand name refers to former production site of shotgun shells in city of same name. In 1907 first Waidmannsheil shotgun shell came off production line in Rottweil am Neckar. Name Rottweil became famous thanks to red Waidmannheil shotgun shells, remained so since 1921 down to present thanks to legendary black Waidmannheil with paper case. Was part of Dynamit Nobel group of companies based in Troisdorf, Germany. RWS sells own brand RWS as well as Geco, Rottweil and Hausken to civilians such as hunters and sportsmen. RUAG Ammotec existed for 20 years until 2022 when Beretta acquired ownership of Ammotec with all its brands.
