History
Parker-Hale Limited began manufacturing high quality precision shooting accessories in heart of gun-making quarter in 1880. Alfred Gray Parker founded rifle manufacturing company in 1890. In 1910 invited nephew Alfred Thomas Corbyn Hale to become partner in limited liability company, shares taken up by members of both Parker and Hale families. Around 1930 Arthur Hale's involvement with A.G. Parker reached significance which led to change of company name to Parker-Hale. Firm initially traded from premises in Icknield Street, Birmingham, joined by Arthur T.C. Hale who became manager by 1910, moved to Whittal Street. Business remained stable throughout 1960s and 1980s with sales of target and sporting rifles, handguns, shotguns and ammunition alongside comprehensive range of rifle scopes, knives, gun care accessories.
