History

Founded in 1805 by Auguste Francotte in Liège, Belgium. Especially active 1860-1914. Initially produced military firearms and 150 revolver models. After WWI, focused on high-quality sporting arms. Dutch entrepreneur's 1998 rescue attempt failed. Closed permanently in 2000.
